Today I am thrilled to introduce you to Edge Monsters! What is an Edge Monster?

Edge Monsters is a small group of industry professionals with first-hand experience in the real-world practices of deploying and managing Edge Computing solutions at scale. We are focused on the ecosystem around edge and in answering difficult questions that haven’t quite reached clarity like…

• How do IOT and Edge best work together?
• What should the vendor ecosystem be building towards to maximize value to their customers?
• What does a good edge app look like and what should software engineers targeting the edge think about?
• What should AI look like at the edge?
• And much, much more

A “monster” is an imaginary creature that is large, ugly, and frightening. I am not sure which of those are true of our group, but I can certify that our members have large brains! Just know that we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do take the Edge very seriously.

Our goal as Edge Monsters is to collectively answer the questions together that many edge practitioners are wrestling with on their own and drive standardization and cohesion at the Edge whenever possible. The edge is a challenging frontier, but we are excited to equip those who ready to explore it with maps, compasses, and the other tools they need to be successful.

What can you expect from Edge Monsters?

• Open standards and specifications around IOT and Edge
• Endorsement of existing specifications and standards around IOT and Edge
• A standard “Edge Monsters approach” that has been vetted by industry experts and can be utilized by any organization that wishes to leverage it
